Chief Minister Arjun Munda has put the Greater Ranchi Development Authority (GRDA) in charge of the mega sports complex to come up across 600 acres with interalia stadia, Olympic-size swimming pools and velodrome.

At the moment, the state runs six sports training centres, two each in Ranchi, Latehar and Gumla. The state government has drafted a plan to set up 19 such centres in as many districts. At each of these centres, 25 sports persons will be selected and trained with the state government’s sponsorship, with Rs 1,200 scholarship.

The state government has provided Rs.500,000 as an initial amount to the JOA and assured it would give Rs.2.5 million more," Anand said.

Nearly 7,500 athletes and 2,000 coaches are likely to participate in 28 disciplines that will be staged here and in the steel city of Jamshedpur.

For outsiders : Ranchi is Capital of Jharkhand. Nearest metro is Calcutta or Kolkata. To visit Ranchi most likely You will take a flight for Calcutta or Kolkata. Previously it was part of Bihar. They are still same people .Even now they marry (matrimonial) from other state.

Message for Visitors who are familiar wth Jharkhand and Bihar : We will soon launch matrimonial website. Bharat or Hindi matrimonial is too broad. Matrimonial service will target Bihar, Jharkhand and may be Calcutta(Bengal).
