As part of the scheme, all BDOs of Ranchi were asked to invite applications from interested boys and girls. Soon, 722 youths from Hindu, Muslim, Christian and Adivasi communities were identified as beneficiaries. The mass wedding was held at the Birsa Munda Stadium yesterday against the backdrop of a map of India.

Munda, accompanied by his wife Meera, was also present at the function. The Chief Minister exhorted the couples to provide education to their kids, and said, with tears rolling down his face: ‘‘My father died when I was very young. When my sister married, no guest was fed because we didn’t have enough money.’’

For outsiders : Ranchi is Capital of Jharkhand. Nearest metro is Calcutta or Kolkata. To visit Ranchi most likely You will take a flight for Calcutta or Kolkata. Previously it was part of Bihar. They are still same people .Even now they marry (matrimonial) from other state.

Message for Visitors who are familiar wth Jharkhand and Bihar : We will soon launch matrimonial website. Bharat or Hindi matrimonial is too broad. Matrimonial service will target Bihar, Jharkhand and may be Calcutta(Bengal).
